Meet Dr. Thomas Hackett, DC
Dr. Hackett brings a unique blend of chiropractic expertise and athletic performance understanding to PGA Chiropractic Health Center. As our Golf Rehab & Performance Expert, he combines his Florida roots with advanced training to help athletes and golfers achieve their movement goals while staying pain-free.
Education and Areas of Specialization
A Tampa native, Dr. Hackett earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange. During his studies, he developed an interest in sports biomechanics, with a particular focus on how the human body moves during athletic activities.
This foundation led him to pursue advanced certifications, including his TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) certification, which allows him to provide golf-specific movement analysis and corrective strategies.
Dr. Hackett’s education emphasized the connection between proper spinal alignment and athletic performance, setting the stage for his integrated approach to patient care that addresses both pain relief and performance optimization.
Clinical Expertise and Patient Care
Dr. Hackett’s practice philosophy centers on identifying and correcting the root causes of movement dysfunction. He works with golfers of all skill levels, from weekend warriors to competitive players, helping them eliminate swing-related pain while improving their game. His typical golf performance program includes movement assessment, range sessions to work on swing biomechanics and ball flight, and comprehensive rehab protocols.
Beyond golf, Dr. Hackett treats athletes across multiple disciplines, including pickleball, tennis, and field sports. He specializes in addressing rotational movement patterns, joint dysfunction, and preventing sport-specific injuries. His hands-on treatment approach combines chiropractic adjustments with targeted soft tissue therapies and corrective exercise prescription.
Integrated Treatment Philosophy
What sets Dr. Hackett apart is his commitment to transitioning patients from passive care to active rehabilitation. He works closely with Dr. Brandon Parker to ensure that patients not only receive pain relief but also develop the strength and movement patterns necessary to prevent reinjury.
This collaborative approach reflects the comprehensive wellness philosophy of Cima Health, where true healing involves building long-term resilience, not just temporary symptom relief.
When he’s not helping patients achieve their performance goals, Dr. Hackett enjoys quality time with his family and practicing what he preaches on the golf course.
